Case closed for the Lakeland Police Department.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has released its final report on the sex scandal inside the agency. But in the report the woman at the center of the controversy looks more like the instigator, not the victim.

It’s 25 pages filled with allegations of sexual misconduct at the Lakeland Police Department. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says doesn’t prove anything criminal happened.

The state agency began their investigation after former Lakeland Police employee Sue Eberle accused several police officers of having sex on the job.

But in the newly released report, Eberle is accused of initiating most of the sexual activity. And the finding shows there was no evidence of Eberle’s claims that several police officers forced themselves on her.

The report also includes text messages between Eberle and another employee suggest she had a hit list of people she wanted to sleep with. Her attorney David Linesch told us by phone today this report is an attempt to discredit his client.

“It’s just a famed and really misguided attempt to try to use this investigation to gain some advantage within that civil claim I would think,” Linesch. “I don’t see any other reason to justify this.”

Linesch said he’s filed a civil suit against LPD and plans to get justice for his client. But the people interviewed in the report claim Eberle doesn’t want justice, she just wants a payday.

“Every time they asked a person that made that remark whether they had any evidence what so ever that that was the case they said no, I do not,” Linesch.

Linesch said his client hasn’t asked for any monetary compensation so far. And as of now, that civil suit is in the hands of the Equal Employment Opportunity council.

FDLE said they forwarded their findings to the State’s Attorney’s Office to see if there will be any criminal charges in this case. The state’s attorney’s office says they consider this case closed.

A spokesperson from the Lakeland Police Department said the facts of the FDLE report are in line with LPD’s report. That report is set to be released in the coming weeks.
