Weather can be mysterious, exciting and sometimes dangerous. That’s why News 13 created Project Weather to help provide kids with the information they need to stay safe. Project Weather is made up of interactive educational resources to help prepare students for the future.
Students will need skills in science, technology, engineering or math for 80% of jobs in the next 10 years. Therefore, educating kids about weather sciences is the perfect subject for the News 13 Weather Experts! News 13, exclusively on Bright House Networks.
News 13 Project Weather Scholarship Contest
News 13 is proud to present the News 13 Project Weather Scholarship Contest! A $1,000 check will be awarded to nine high school seniors in public, private or parochial schools who excel in science.
One winner will be selected from each of the following counties: Orange, Osceola, Lake, Marion, Brevard, Volusia, Flagler, Seminole and Sumter.
A $1,000 check will be presented at the News 13 Studios by a News 13 meteorologist.
The scholarship is granted as a part of News 13's commitment to educating children about science and weather.
The deadline to submit an application is March 1, 2014.
